Okay scratch that “I got nuthin’” stuff. I just spied this and thought I’d share.
Sen. Paul suggests GOP voters want immigrants rounded up, put in camps, returned ‘to Mexico’
By Associated Press, Updated: Sunday, February 17, 12:07 PMWASHINGTON — A Republican senator says he sees some in his party favoring a 2016 presidential candidate with an immigration policy that would “round people up … and send them back to Mexico.”
Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky on Sunday said he would be a presidential candidate if he thought he could win. The tea party favorite says he sees an opening for a “libertarian Republican narrative” to help the GOP win on the West Coast and New England.
Paul says people want a party that’s “less aggressive on foreign policy” and drug laws. Paul says he sees voters wanting, quote, “somebody who wants to round people up, put in camps and send them back to Mexico.”
Wow. Camps? That will end well. Just ask the Germans. And I wonder if he wants to send Canadian immigrants “back to Mexico,” too?
But the story over at U.S. News & World Report omits the “camps” part. Here’s a screen shot:
Wow, I wonder why?

Wonder how they’ll go through the actual “rounding them up” thing considering first you have to have probable cause to stop someone and request an ID; second, because no one is actually legally required to drive a car, no one is required to have a picture ID on them to prove they aren’t illegal (unless they are trying to vote) so we’d just be rounding up hispanic-looking people, many of whom would be actual citizens; third, do they have any idea how long it will take the possibly hundreds of thousands of people currently working for the INS and every other agency that could legally be asked to participate to round up over thirteen million people, even if processing and admin paperwork only took half their time; and fourth, how much the wrongful arrest suits would cost us taxpayers?
Don’t these people actually ever think?
Why be aggressive on foreign policy when they’re are about 250M people for the GOP to fuck over without leaving the U.S.?
Oh, I wish somebody would just throw a blanket over his cage.
Oh, lordy. I tried to tell folks back during the very short run by his daddy for President: Ron Paul was a famous racist who supported KKK candidates ON HIS private newsletter. He was a long time member of the John Birch Society and once he got into Congress, he voted against EVERY SINGLE thing. As a physician in Texas, he refused to treat Hispanics and insisted that his senior patients on Medicare must pay CASH for his services. It is no damned wonder that the son fell from this tree of lunacy…wish we had 2 Ashley Judds in KY!
…deport them all to Mexico because there’s nothing Mexicans like better than every other Latino-immigrating countryman, and vice-versa.
Hasn’t Marco (Savior) Rubio told his fellow R Sens that just because ignorant Americans dismiss so easily the millions of people who aren’t as assimilated as Rubio that those millions aren’t all best friends with each other?
Hell, I’m a born ‘n bred New Englander, where typical migration of Spanish speakers means American citizens from Puerto Rico, and even I’m able to wrap my head around that.
So the Repukes want to arrest, force into camps and deport 11 million people. And I’m sure it would be managed with the discretion and intelligence they bring to every other government project. Must be that “limited government” the GOP is always yammering about.
I’m sure they would come up with a great plan. Like, for instance, locals could inform on known illegal immigrants. And maybe we could have those people live in special, segregated neighborhoods, you know, until the “camps” get built. And of course some of them work so maybe we could have them wear some kind of symbol on their clothing to identify them apart from the “legals.” Maybe a gold star or some such …
What could possibly go wrong???!!!!
