It’s almost as if someone was trying to make a point or something:

UtahNewspaper

The story of the Utah toddler can be found here. He was shot by his 3-year-old sister, who found the rifle lying around in the house:

Cache County sheriff’s Lt. Mike Peterson said the gun has been used earlier in the day by the children’s father, who set it down after returning home. The firearm was unloaded but did have live rounds in the magazine, he said.

So, enjoy your Second Amendment rights, people. Kinda pathetic when they’re more important than your own kids. I read stories like these on a daily basis and I promise you, every single one of these parents thinks they are being safe. Every single one.

” The firearm was unloaded but did have live rounds in the magazine, he said.”

Has somebody been changing definitions again?

  2. @Bert Woodall:

Well, Burt, if somebody said it was “loaded” and that somebody wasn’t an NRA FEE* you can bet your ass that the gunzloonzosphere would be rockin’ the truth about how ANTIS don’t know shit about teh gunz!

I’m not sure that I could live with the knowledge that I killed one of my own children through laziness, stupidity or hubrsis. Gunzloonz seem not to be troubled by that sort of thing.

  3. I just realized that the story about the toddler shooting her brother had nothing to do with the story about the murder house. I guess in a fucked up gunzloonz sortaway that’s appropriate. I mean “murder” is when you WANT to kill someone. “Unavoidable tragedy that no one could have foreseen” is for when you’re too lazy, stupid or negligent to put a LOADED FUCKING GUN out of the reach of a child.

Here’s a tip for the dad, going forward; if it’s a bolt action rifle keep the bolt someplace where the rest of the rifle ISN”T, same for the bullets. I only say this because investigators say the child “manipulated the action” in order to chamber a round–not possible with an auto-loader and I’ve not seen a child that at the age of three could successfully operate a pump action rifle (although there prolly is some shithead who’s videotaped his child doing exactly that and put it on youtube). I admit that it might be a .22 caliber revolving rifle but I doubt that is the case.

    • Well, that was the point of “unfortunate headline placement …” That and the stupid Gun Loonz rallying for FREEdumb.

    • Did you see this story out of Fresno, CA?

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A man is dead after being shot in the head at a Northwest Fresno apartment on Friday, and the man accused of accidentally shooting him is under arrest.

Coroner’s officials have identified the victim as 65-year-old Gerald Perry.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. at an apartment on Ashlan near Valentine. Fresno police believe 30-year-old Lemont Smith negligently discharged a semi-automatic handgun. The bullet went through the sliding glass door of the apartment and hit Perry.

Officers say the victim was sitting on a couch visiting his granddaughter at the time. Perry was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center and died Saturday afternoon.
