Congratulations, Veronica Dunnachie! You Are Our 2nd Amendment Hero Du Jour!

Texas “guns rights”/open carry advocate Veronica Dunnachie, who appeared at several Open Carry Texas and Open Carry Tarrant County events, has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing her husband and step-daughter. She apparently shot and killed the two, then checked herself in to a mental hospital. Pretty sure she should have gone to the mental hospital first.

So much for safest, most responsible, etc.

I admit to a moment of glee upon reading this. Sad that two people lost their lives, but they have to have known she was a gun toting lunatic, as are all open carriers. Heck — she probably told them how safe they were now that she had lots of guns and carried them all the time. This is how these stories ALWAYS end. The shitheads at the Open Carry Tarrant Carry Facebook page have deleted any comments that mention this killing, because it might hurt their pathetic reputations. Texans. Killing each other every day. Making America a better place to live.

  2. Have seen this story covered elsewhere. Tragic. Some of the Facebook comments(apparently now deleted per MM above) indicated people that knew the shooter were not as shocked as one might expect. I did see a word I had not seen before associated with the story – “Ammosexual”- snark.

    • I saw that on the DKos story. If you KNOW someone is unstable then why the fuck don’t you take their guns away? Texas needs a law like California’s which allows family members to do just that. Sandy Hook wouldn’t have happened if the shooter’s idiot mother didn’t think firearms and shooting ranges were a good place for her mentally unstable son to be alright with the world. Dumbasses.

  3. I knew her, shes a snake! She openly carried her firearm everywhere. She was a Tarrant County Pricinct Judge as well. Something the media doesnt know, but her slain husband owned a gun range in Waxahatchie and they both were Zone Commanders of Zone 3 in 3%ers of Texas, a Texas State Militia.
