A man sleeping with not one but two loaded guns: what could possibly go wrong? This:
From his hospital bed, Cooley said he sleeps with two loaded .22 caliber revolvers in bed and on the morning of Jan. 14 he woke up and was trying to put a firearm on the nightstand.
Neither of the guns, one of which was still under a blanket in the bed, were in holsters, deputies said.
Cooley said that as he rolled over with the handgun in his hand, he accidentally bumped the trigger and the weapon discharged. A bullet struck Cooley on the right side above his hip, investigators said.
Cooley’s son said he heard a loud noise and heard screaming from his parents’ room, and when he got there took a towel and covered his father’s wound, a report shows.
After the gun went off, Cooley’s wife took the firearm and placed it on the nightstand.
Dumbass. Oh, and no charges filed. That would be wrong.
