Rotten Cotton

[UPDATE]:

Oh, apparently we just can’t take a joke:

Republican aides were taken aback by what they thought was a lighthearted attempt to signal to Iran and the public that Congress should have a role in the ongoing nuclear discussions. Two GOP aides separately described their letter as a “cheeky” reminder of the congressional branch’s prerogatives.

“The administration has no sense of humor when it comes to how weakly they have been handling these negotiations,” said a top GOP Senate aide.

Interfering with foreign policy negotiations, hilARious!

———————————————

Well you could have knocked me over with a feather:

In an open letter organized by freshman Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., 47 Senate Republicans today warned the leaders of Iran that any nuclear deal reached with President Barack Obama could expire as soon as he leaves office.

Tomorrow, 24 hours later, Cotton will appear at an “Off the Record and strictly Non-Attribution” event with the National Defense Industrial Association, a lobbying and professional group for defense contractors.

The NDIA is composed of executives from major military businesses such as Northrop Grumman, L-3 Communications, ManTech International, Boeing, Oshkosh Defense and Booz Allen Hamilton, among other firms.

This is my shocked face:

shocked

Seriously, Republicans. Have you ever met a war you didn’t like? I guess as long as Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Booz Allen Hamilton are filling the campaign coffers, the answer to that would be no.

And major kudos to Tennessee Senators Alexander and Corker, who refused to sign the letter. They’re probably getting slammed from the Neocon wing of the party, which means there will be red meat thrown on another issue, no doubt. But on this they are correct.

Look, elections have consequences. And every time Republicans hold the reins of power, the militarism and warmongering heat up. If you don’t want war, don’t vote Republican. Simple as that.

WOO HOO, SB. And lest we forget, Alexander got beat in his own County in his Primary by CARR, the biggest TEA wing nutt in the bunch.

For the life of me, with all the awful votes by our two Senators in the last 6 years, against the sick, the hungry, the poor and unemployed, AND our Veterans, I just cannot give them ANY credit for this one. Their own crazies will harrass them til the cows come home.

And the 47 ? They are TRAITORS to our country.

  2. No doubt had a Democrat done EXACTLY the same thing there would be calls for public execution for Treason.

Who in the hell does this jerk Cotten think he is–seriously? This is an absolutely unprecedented outreach and incredible insult to the president, especially coming on the heels of the Bibi speech. Elections do have consequences.

Thanks, Randy. And after all the crazies, the traitors have done to try and discredit our President, now the very thought that HE Could be succeeded by a WHITE WOMAN and a Democrat has been haunting their heads for years. And Colin Powell used private e-mail. Lindsey doesn’t even send e-mail, Sarah Palin got caught using personal e-mail because a UT Knoxville tech student GUESSED at her E-Mail address. She had him arrested, tried, and I am not sure what his punishment. As Hillary says, the State Department servers SAVED ALL her e-mails.

  5. But the demoncrats have done this, too, hunnerts of times! I’m sure that can be proven by, y’know Rushbo or one of the Troo PATRIOTS!!

First to ‘democommie’, give me a list! We have NEVER dishonored the office of the President, or any sitting President…but as you are trashing Rushbo, I am assuming your post is sarcasm ?? And Kim, unfortunately, we Dems could not get the vote out in November, making it so easy for the evil, dirty, outside money to BUY our elections. WE MUST register at least 10,000 new voters here, plus find great candidates with SOME money and integrity, character and a will to WIN.

So true. But that pretty much goes for everything, healthcare, jobs, the economy, and on, and on. Everything these cretans touch turns to sh!t. Yet, the good citizens keep voting and reelecting the very candidates that harms them. That’s why I have little sympathy for the republican base here in East Tennessee. These sad sacks are never going to figure out who’s eating their lunch. And it ain’t Democrats. Just watch, these morons will turn out in mass for the next presidential election to vote agains the Hildabeast and right into the lovin’ arms of their GOP abusers. I all out of sympathy.
