Congratulations, Brent Dawson Estabrook! You’re Our 2nd Amendment Hero Du Jour

Gee, it always works so well in the movies:

In a complaint filed in court, authorities said Estabrook pulled out a .45 caliber pistol while at the house.

“(He) was spinning it around on his finger and it accidentally went off,” the complaint said. The bullet struck 24-year-old Jacob Parker in the cheek, killing him.

Records from Mobile County Metro Jail showed authorities also picked up Estabrook on menacing and harassment charges out of Mobile. The cases appeared to stem from confrontations in 2013, although additional information was not immediately available.

Wonder where he got the gun from.

  1. Spinning it around on his finger? Isn’t that like exactly where the trigger is?

    Takes brains.

  2. How long before some trollsockpuppet comes over here to tell us that this p.o.s. was church-goin’-famblyman?

    • I’ve got my money one one of them coming by to remind us that X-number of people were killed in a) car accidents; b) swimming pools; c) etc. etc.

As a matter of fact, about the same number of people are killed in car accidents every year in the U.S. as are killed by guns. However, 95% of American households have at least one car, while only 32% own at least one gun. Because I live in a city with poor public transportation, I need my car. Because that city is not Mogadishu, I have never needed a gun.

      • I would LOVE to regulate guns the same way we regulate cars. Registered, licensed, regular license renewals, mandatory liability insurance, not to mention all of the safety elements we take for granted with cars (seatbelts, airbags, etc.) and let’s not even talk about how we prosecute vehicular homicide and drunk driving versus the failure to prosecute gun negligence because “oh they’ve suffered enough” … BUT the problem as the gun “rights” people will tell you is that driving is a privilege, not a right; the 2nd Amendment guarantees the right to own firearms. So they are not the same, HOWEVER that doesn’t mean we can’t regulate firearms, after all the first part of the 2nd Amendment says WELL-REGULATED. Jesus.

  3. Shutter

Spent his formative years watching cowboys spin their single-action revolvers around their fingers and decided he’d try the same thing with his double-action pistol. Sorry Bubba, doesn’t work so good that way. Buy hey, the shot missed you. Too bad about the other guy.
