Brilliant War On Terror Idea!

Here’s some stupidity straight out of — where else? — Florida:

A Florida gun maker is marketing an AR-15 carbine that he says will be “Islamic-free” because of the Bible verse he etches on each rifle. It’s aptly named “the Crusader.”

Each Crusader coming out of Spike’s Tactical in Apopka, Florida, is laser-etched on the right side of the rifle’s lower receiver with Psalm 144:1: “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.”

On the left side, a cross and shield are etched.

Ben “Mookie” Thomas, spokesman for Spike’s Tactical, told Tampa Bay CBS-TV affiliate WTSP 10 News what led to the development of the Crusader:

“Right now, and as it has been for quite some time, one of the biggest threats in the world is and remains Islamic terrorism,” Thomas, who is a former Navy SEAL and former Blackwater security contractor, told the station. “We wanted to make sure we built a weapon that would never be able to be used by Muslim terrorists to kill innocent people or advance their radical agenda.”

This idiot might do better to inscribe his guns with an incantation I mean Bible verse keeping them away from toddlers, wife abusers, and garden-variety criminals.

FAIL.

  1. Only in the shallowest mind can this product make sense.

  2. Now if he’d only release a model with pictures of Lincoln, TR (the real father of governmental regulation of industry), Justices William Brennan and Harry Blackmun, and Jackie Robinson, it might keep them out of the hands of our domestic terrorists — and. no, it wasn’t an accident that I chose five life-long Republicans — just as a reminder that a sane Republican was once not an unthinkable absurdity.

    • Except those guys weren’t all life-long Republicans. Lincoln, of course, got started in politics before there was a Republican party and was elected to Congress as a Whig. Teddy Roosevelt quit the party to run as Bull Moose in the 1912 election. And Jackie Robinson wasn’t a Republican at all; he was an independent who supported Nixon in 1960 but recognized the poison in the Republican party after they nominated Goldwater in 1964 and wound up campaigning for Hubert Humphrey in 1968.

  3. Why do so many people not know that there are large chunks of the Bible in the Quran? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_and_Quranic_narratives)

If I start a GoFundMe site named Duct Tape for ISIS you think I’ll get hate mail?

  5. And this 2nd Amendment hero story was too good to be missed.

No, lady “This is my rifle, this is my gun…” does not seem to mean what you think it does.

(h/t to Juanita Jean, who may have been rendered speechless for the first time.)

  6. I assume it’s not “He who lives by the sword will die by the sword” or “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” or “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” or “Turn the other cheek” and certainly not “That which you do to the least among you you do unto me”.

I wonder if the idiot realizes that if there was algebra involved in the design of the gun, and there had to have been, they’re using Islamic mathematics to do everything about it. Only I don’t wonder, I know the idiot has no idea of how stupid his claim is.
