One Weird Tip For Ending TN Legislative Lunacy

Rep. Susan Lynn has pulled her ridiculous “bathroom bill,” meaning it’s dead … for now:

“I have learned that our school districts are largely following what the bill says,” she said while inside her office at the Capitol on Monday. “I am still absolutely 100 percent in support of maintaining the privacy of all students. But I’m going to roll the bill over until next year so we can work on those issues.

Rep. Lynn is of course notorious for a whole string of questionable actions since she’s been in the legislature: distributing anti-Muslim videos to her colleagues, killing equal pay legislation, etc. She’s an embarrassment to the state of Tennessee.

While all of the threats of boycotts and hand-wringing and protesting and petitioning has been nice to see, there’s really only one way to stop this nonsense that has overtaken our legislature. Get rid of people like Susan Lynn.

As it happens, Lynn has a Democratic challenger. Her name is Trisha Farmer. Let’s send her some financial help and send a message that Lynn’s bathroom BS is not what the people of Middle Tennessee need.

  2. It is a bit of a misnomer to file this under LGBT. I don’t get what this has to do with being gay. I googoled California’s laws on this subject and the first thing that came up was a reactionary article by the conservative organ, the WaPo.

Apparently teachers are very much in a whirl because they are unable to prevent students with gender identity issues from entering bathrooms and locker rooms that do not agree with their birth certificates.

If a boy who identified as a girl was allowed into a girl’s locker room, would not that child mostly just keep to herself and not bother anyone else? If there really is such a thing as a girl who self-identifies as a boy, would he not just try to cause as little trouble as possible in doing his ablutions and not attracting too much attention?

Everybody would know if a sexually predatory child somehow insinuated his or her self into the other gender’s private sanctuary.

Here is what we truly need to be concerned about:

Gay youth using the locker rooms of their own sex. I mean, could you imagine being a gay boy and being able to gape, ogle, stare or furtively peek at the finest and most beautiful young athletes in their most intimate moments? We’re talking a kid in a candy store! Could you even dream of the sublime ecstasy of being a lesbian in a high school girl’s locker room?

Here’s Lynn’s announcement from her own website. She has some deeper “worries” about activist doctors that make for interesting reading. Speaking as someone living in her district, I don’t think Farmer has much chance. Lynn is an embarrassment, but the amount of support she has is even more embarrassing.
