Apparently this is how your modern pro-life party operates these days. Democrats and anyone working to elect them, take heed: lock up the family pets. They apparently are fair game in our modern political warfare:
Last night, I got the most chilling phone call I have ever received. It was Jake Burris, Ken Aden’s campaign manager. Last night, Jake and his four kids had come back to their Russellville home. As they were getting out of the car, one of his children discovered their family cat dead on the front porch. One side of the animal’s head had been bashed in and an eyeball was hanging out of its socket. But there was something even more horrifying to be found on the corpse.
Written across the animal’s fur in black marker was the word “LIBERAL”.

This is sick. And no, both sides don’t do it. Just cut that crap right now. Also: we can retire the old “Chicago-style politics” meme. Arkansas has taken mob politics to a whole new level.
Seriously, if you’re so wrapped up in politics that you will take out your anger on a campaign manager’s family pet? Get some fucking help.

Yeah, well first they’ll be in denial (“Can you PROVE it happened? How do we know the picture wasn’t Photoshopped?!”) and then there’s the anger stage (I dunno, that’s pretty much their default state so, take your pick) and THEN there’s the bargaining stage (“A liberal said something mean once! So there!”) and, hell, I forgot what comes after that but I’m pretty sure they never make it all the way to the Acceptance stage. If they do, they’re no longer Republicans.

In other news, Gabrielle Giffords announced that she will resign her confressional seat. We should all send Sarah Palin a great big, “Thank you!” and maybe some ciggies and Hershey bars for poor Jared Loughner.
After months of denying that those circles & crosshairs on her Congressional “hit” list were gun sights — she said they were “surveyor’s marks” — she finally admitted they were crosshairs.
What a weenie. When the heat is on they run like scared children, then lob their attacks when enough time has passed than no one even cares anymore.
This sort of thing is why I tend to be more pro death than pro life. Some people just need killing and only the law stops us.
Even if we’re never certain about motivation someone murdered an animal and wrote on it. That’d be enough for most people to consider relocating.
